Farm Tours and Workshops

***Please note: Farm Tours and Workshops are unavailable right now due to the Covid-19 Quarantine and our construction project on the goat and pony pastures. We are open on a limited basis for customers purchasing and picking up goats and Maremma puppies only. We plan to start tours up again in the fall, depending on what happens with Covid 19, when we will have a new set-up that will be much better for interacting with the animals. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
We offer a variety of farm tours and workshops to the public and will be adding more options in the future. Come out and meet our dairy goats. Learn what it takes to keep dairy goats healthy and happy and producing their sweet, creamy milk. See our working Italian Maremma Sheepdogs in action, keeping our animals safe from predators. We also have horses, mini horses, and a sweet mini donkey who will greet you at the fence as well as a variety of free range chickens and ducks and friendly barn cats running around the place. There’s always something fun to see and do on the farm!

Baby Goat Play Dates

Love the idea of Baby Goat Yoga but want to skip the Yoga part?! Here at Prancing Pony Farm, you can love on our sweet baby goats, let them jump all over you if you wish but you won’t have to do the yoga part! ☺️ Who needs the distraction of yoga when these adorable little creatures are begging for your attention?! Instead you can just interact with baby goats and their moms in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. This activity is available during our Spring and Fall Kidding seasons, when we have lots of new babies on the farm. These events are so much fun! Come and see why baby goats are the sweetest, cutest, most entertaining creatures on earth!

***
This event is appropriate for all ages as long as children are able to understand not to chase the goats which scares them and could hurt them. We need to be sweet, gentle and calm with the babies. ☺️ These little guys are new to the world and are still trying to figure out what is safe. Its in their instincts to be scared when something is chasing them. Instead it's best to sit quietly and wait for the babies to get curious and come to meet you! We enjoy having children here sharing in the love of baby goats, so a little prep before coming for your visit by explaining how to behave around the goats really goes a long way in making for a wonderful experience for human and goat kids!

Price is $50 for up to 5 people, plus $10 for each additional person.

All About Goats
Meet & Greet

Sign up for our "All About Goats Meet & Greet" program where where you can interact with and meet our goats, ask questions about goat care, see how they are housed, fed and cared for and whatever else you'd like to learn. This is a great opportunity for people who are considering getting goats of their own but would like to interact with some first and learn more about them and their care. It’s also great for people who are not able to own goats but would still like to enjoy spending time with these charming creatures.

If you have anything specific you would like to learn about during your visit please include that on the sign up form and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

$50 for up to 5 people, plus $10 per additional person.

***If you put a deposit on a goat during your visit the visit fee can be applied to your purchase, so long as you meet our requirements for purchasing goats from us and also fill out our Goat Reservation Form.

Fill out the form below to sign up for any of these activities.

    Waivers

Our farm waivers are written agreements that outline common activities and risks that can happen while you are having fun on the farm. Although waivers are primarily legal tools, they also serve an educational purpose by letting you know about the potential risks of an activity.  You can determine if this activity is right for you. Often that's all it takes to understand, and hopefully, avoid accidents and misunderstandings.
Anyone who refuses to sign a waiver prior to the activity may not participate. Nor may the individual alter or delete any language in the waiver.
Waivers cannot be signed by minors. Activity participants under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
If you have any questions or concerns about our farm waiver, please contact us.

"Above the arch there was a lamp, and beneath it swung a large signboard: a fat white pony reared up on its hind legs. Over the door was painted in white letters:
The Prancing Pony by Barliman Butterbur."
