Companies and Products we Recommend
For Goats
- Crafts-MIN livestock mineral from Grass Farmer Supply (Our fantastic organic loose mineral, super high in selenium, copper and other great stuff. Contains Thorvin kelp)
- Sweetlix caprine Magnum Milk Mineral (loose dairy goat mineral, Evangelho's carries it. We now use CraftsMin but it’s a good second choice. Goats must have loose minerals, not blocks, because they don't have strong enough teeth or tongues to get the nutrients they need from blocks!)
- New Country Organics Thorvin Kelp (Our CraftsMin mineral contains it so we don't feed it seperately now. If you feed a cheaper mineral you might add this on the side.)
- Simple Pulse Professional Home Milking Systems (what we use to milk our goats)
- New England Cheesemaking Supply Co (to use all that delicious milk!)
- Polydome Calf hutches (calf hutches make great goat houses!)
- CalfTel Calf Hutches (We use these for outdoor housing and the small ones in our kidding pens. They are great because you can insert a Premier 1 heat lamp in the back and several kids and/or doe and kid can fit in one.)
- Premier 1 Heat lamps (For kidding season, the only heat lamp we'll use!)
- TopFlo Z Nigerian Inflations (from Hamby Dairy Supply - we replaced the SP inflations with these, they rock!)
- Fly predators by Spaulding Labs
- Hoof Boss power hoof trimmer - makes a hard job easier - this thing rocks!
- Sheep & Goat BlueLite electrolytes for hot days
- FightBac Teat Spray (for after milking, to prevent mastitis - Evangelho’s carries it or order online.)
- DuMOR Alfalfa/Bermuda (or all alfalfa) pellets from Tractor Supply (we use these large pellets as treats for our goats and horses or soak them into a mash for our farm mascot, Twilight the rescue pony)
- Manna Pro Saddle Snacks horse treats from Tractor Supply - our goats and horses love them!
- Infant Optics Video Baby Monitor & extra cameras (for the kidding stalls
- Aspen Pet Barn large dog houses, from Tractor Supply or Lowe’s (we prefer these)
- Petmate Indigo Extra Large Dog Igloo from Tractor Supply or Lowe’s (these are really warm but also heavy and cumbersome are really hard to get baby goats out of, so we only use them outdoors in winter for adult goats.
- Coolaroo Shade Sail Cloths from Costco (we use these to keep the goats and dogs cool in summer.
For Dogs & Cats
- Diamond Naturals All Life Stages dog food from Amazon Subscribe and Save. Superior food for our adult Maremmas and puppies.
- 4 Health All Life Stages Cat Food (at TSC)
- Puppy Culture
- Karen Pryor Clicker Training courses and products
For Horses
- Equipride & Equilix (our number 1 supplement for horses. We won’t do without it! Circle N in Tulare carries it.)
- Renew Gold (GMO & Soy free horse feed made of Copra, Rice Bran & Flax)
- Stance Equine Coolstance (Coconut Copra horse feed, GMO & soy free, low NSC)
- Max-E-Glo Stabilized Rice Bran (GMO free, high fat feed)
- DuMOR Alfalfa/Bermuda (or all alfalfa) pellets from Tractor Supply (we use these large pellets as treats for our goats and horses or soak them into a mash for our farm mascot, Twilight the rescue pony)
- Manna Pro Saddle Snacks horse treats from Tractor Supply - our goats and horses love them!
- Triple Crown Feeds while we don't normally like to use feeds with soy or GMO's occasionally we have to compromise for the health of the animal. IF we have to us a commercial horse feed Triple Crown brand is the only one we'll use, because they have a fixed formula, the ingredients are posted on their website, they are made with mostly great ingredients and have many low NSC options. We have a rescue pony (Twilight) who has bad teeth, Cushings disease, chronic Laminitis AND is a very picky eater and hard to keep weight on! After trying many things we finally found that Triple Crown Senior is the perfect feed for her and she thrives on it.
