Mini Nubian doe deposit
All deposits are non-refundable. If you back out of a sale for any reason you forfeit your deposit. We reserve the right to cancel a sale for any reason. If we do so we will either replace the goat with one of equal value, put you on the list for the next available litter or refund your deposit.
Deposits are honored in the order we receive them, AFTER any kids we choose to retain. Kids will be offered soon after birth to each buyer in line. If the first buyer in line passes on a kid they become available to the next person in line. Deposits are breed and gender specific. If you would like to change your choice you may do so but you'll go in line after the other buyers already on the new list. Kids need to be picked up within 72 hours of the "ready date" or you may risk forfeiting your deposit.
If we decide that a kid isn’t ready to go on the previosly specified date we may choose to keep them longer. Please be understanding as we want to ensure that each kid is mature enough to go to their new home, for their benefit as well as the owner’s. In general most male kids can go around 9 weeks and female kids at 12 weeks but goat kids mature at different rates so we treat them as individuals and wean at the best time for each kid. This helps ensure happy, healthy, stress-free babies, which is best for everyone!
ALL kids will be disbudded before leaving the farm. We cannot guarantee they will be scur-free but we do our best to prevent scurs. Bucklings bought as wethers will usually be banded before leaving the farm, unless they aren’t mature enough, in which case the buyer can bring them back later for banding or have it done elsewhere. All kids will be microchipped or tattooed before leaving the farm, for registration and Scrapie ID purposes. All kids come with the appropriate registration applications for their breed at pick-up.
We manage our herd as holistically and naturally as possible, therefore we do not vaccinate our herd with the CDT vaccine. Instead we focus on excellent nutrition and proper management to keep our goats healthy. New owners can obtain the CDT vaccine at any feed store if they would like their goats vaccinated. We do not routinely deworm our goats as this can lead to dewormer resistance. We only deworm based on fecal results or clinical signs. We do give age-appropriate Cocciodosis prevention and treatment.
New owners should be aware that goats are VERY susceptible to stress, including stess from weaning, rapid weather changes and going to a new home. Stress can cause goats to be more susceptible to illness, especially pneumonia and parasites. Stressed goats can get sick very quickly. Learn what to watch out for and have a good small ruminant vet and/or medications on hand before bringing home your goats! See our website for more information and resources on goat health.
We dam raise most of our kids as it is healthier and more natural for them and their dams. We handle them regularly to make them friendly but some goats are naturally shyer than others. We ask that you are patient with your new goat when you get them home. If they are shy at first they will come around in time.
All animals are healthy and sound to the best of our knowledge. Goats must be picked up, in person, by the buyer, unless alternate arrangements are agreed upon in writing. It’s the buyer’s responsibility to thoroughly inspect the animal before taking them home. Illnesses and injury are not our responsibility or within our control once the animal leaves our farm, nor will we refund an animal due to sickness, death or any other reason after they leave here. All sales are final.
Purchase (or placing a deposit) signifies the buyer's agreement and compliance with the above terms and conditions. Our full sales policy can and should be read on our Sales Policy Page at prancingponyfarm
