Maremma Sheepdog Waiting List

As of 2021 we have a new procedure for taking puppy reservations. The demand for our puppies has increased to the point that even with multiple litters a year we usually sell our puppies several months to a year or more before they are born. Because we have so many outstanding reservations for puppies we are no longer taking deposits on a specific litter or puppy that far in advance. Instead we take Puppy Deposits as the litters are born. We will update our Puppies for Sale page when we have puppies on the way and once puppies are born we will begin taking deposits for that particular litter. The deposit is $500 per puppy, payable by PayPal. If you’re interested in a puppy you should check back with us periodically to see if we have any available reservations.

Or if you prefer we now have a new paid Waiting List for people who would like to purchase a puppy from us. For a $200 per puppy fee you will be put on our Waiting List for a puppy from a future litter. This is not a deposit on a particular puppy or litter but it will hold your spot in line for a puppy from a future litter and will be applied to the full puppy deposit of $500 and the final balance due on the puppy you eventually get. This fee is non-refundable for any reason but it is transferable, within the limits outlined below.*

As new litters arrive we will go through the waiting list and offer puppies to each person on the list in turn. If you decide you would like a puppy at this time you will then pay an additional $300 non-refundable Puppy Deposit to hold a puppy from this litter. That deposit will be applied to a puppy from for THIS litter only and is non-refundable for any reason.

*If you are not ready for a puppy when one is offered to you then you may wait until the next litter if you choose, without losing your spot in line. However if you skip taking an offered puppy twice then you will go to the back of the line. If you skip three times you will forfeit your Waiting List fee. You’re always welcome to re-apply but will need to pay a new fee to do so. ☺️

Please note that the price of the puppies is NOT set when you pay the Waiting List fee. Our prices will be listed on our website to give you a general idea of what we charge but they are always subject to change, especially if you are making a reservation for a puppy several months to a year or more in advance. The price you pay will be the current price for our puppies when one is offered to you and will be confirmed when you pay the additional $300 Puppy Deposit. The price will be noted on your deposit invoice and will be good for a puppy from that litter only.

Puppies will be ready to go around 16 weeks of age, depending on PennHip testing dates and other factors. We will notify you ahead of time of the pick-up date and payment in full will be due at that time. If you cannot pick your puppy up by the ready date we can arrange to keep it longer but the payment will still be due and should be made via PayPal to ensure you don’t forfeit your deposit. If you need us to hold the puppy longer this can be arranged but there may be an additional board and training fee.

Reservations cannot be made for a specific gender unless it’s for a breeding quality puppy. (Available at a higher price to qualified buyers only.) We will do our best to accommodate requests for a specific gender whenever possible but will not refund Waiting List fees or Puppy Deposits if you choose to reject a puppy based on gender. These puppies are sold as working dogs, first and foremost, therefore we will pick the best puppy for each buyer, taking into consideration temperament, personality, the type of livestock to be guarded, the farm/ranch setting and lastly, gender.

We do reserve the right to retain any puppies we choose for ourselves or to hold back as breeding prospects before offering them to Waiting List Clients. Also, if we later determine that an applicant is not a good match for our puppies we will cancel their reservation and will refund their application fee and/or deposit.

If you are interested in one of our puppies please fill out the Puppy Questionnaire if you have not already done so. We will contact you once we receive your submission to discuss your needs and goals for a Maremma puppy. If we determine you to be a good match for our puppies and you decide you would like to be put on our Waiting List then we will send you a PayPal invoice for the Waiting List fee. Otherwise we welcome you to keep checking our website to see if we have any available puppies in the future. ☺️
