Raw Goat Milk Herdshares
We are in the process of starting a raw goat milk herdshare program. Herdshare members will purchase shares in our registered Mini Nubian and Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. Members will pay a monthly board fee to Prancing Pony Farm which includes feed, maintenance, veterinary care and the milking of the herd. In exchange for the fee members will receive a set amount (1/2 or 1 gallon) of fresh raw goat milk per week, per share. Multiple shares per member may be purchased to equal the amount of milk you want to receive per week. Proper milk handling techniques will be adhered to, as well as disease testing and other appropriate biosecurity measures in order to ensure safe, healthy, delicious milk. Milk is picked up by members here at the farm on designated days. Members may visit the herd and become involved with the care of the goats if they would like to but it is not required.
We will be working with the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund and the Raw Milk Institute to set up the Herdshare Program. If you are interested in becoming a member sign up for our newsletter and we will keep you updated on the progress and let you know when we are ready to start accepting members. You may also fill out our Contact Form.
